Gallery

Greene Contemporary represents emerging artists and mid-career artists. Greene Contemporary looks globally for art that represents the most interesting contemporary art being made today. The gallery searches for artists who have a proven commitment and dedication to making art. Greene looks for artists who participate in the dialogue about what defines contemporary art. The gallery artists work in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, drawing, sculpture, photography and video. Greene Contemporary also participates in art fairs across the world. For a full list of those art fairs please scroll to the bottom of this page.

Greene Contemporary opened in Sarasota, Florida in March 2006. The gallery in Sarasota closed in March 2008 in preparation for the move to New York. Greene Contemporary is currently finishing the construction on its new gallery space on the Lower East Side of New York. We are located at 9 Clinton Street on the Lower East Side. Greene Contemporary will open with its first exhibition on September 3, 2008, a show of new sculpture by Nathan Skiles entitled Welcome to Tartarus, Welcome to Valhalla.

Greene Contemporary does not actively review the work of artists unless they have been recommended to us by an artist, curator or gallery that we know and trust. If you are an artist and wish to submit your work for future consideration without recommendation, this must be done via email and you must include a link to your website, no attached images please. Any portfolios sent via U.S. mail will not be returned.
